Pam & Jim
It all starts with owners Pam & Jim Porter, a husband-and-wife team committed to sustainable multiple-use forest management. Jim, the CEO, and Chief Forester is a 45-year veteran in the forest products and paper packaging industry. Wife Pam is educated with a Masters's degree in Industrial Psychology and Finance. While new to forestry, she is actively involved in a variety of forestry and land management organizations. The couple has 7 grandchildren with whom they love to share their passion for the land. Each grandchild has a road on the property named after them
About Jim
CEO & Chief Forester
He began his career in forestry in the Pacific Northwest in 1974 as Washington Forester for Menasha Corporation, managing thousands of acres of Douglas Fir timberlands as his first job. Moving continuously forward in the paper and packaging business through today as Group President of WestRock, one of the largest forest products, Paper, and Packaging companies in the world.

- Chairman of the American Forest and Paper Association (AFPA) - Kraft paper and containerboard sector.
- Chairman of the Fibre Box Association
- Board of directors for the Independent Corrugated Converters
- Inducted into the circle of distinguished leaders by the Independent Corrugated Packaging Foundation
- Awarded the Executive Eagle Award for exceptional Career safety leadership by the Pulp & Paper Safety Association
- Awarded the RISI lifetime achievement award
- Certified forester - 2015
- Current board member of the American Forests Foundation
- Current board member of the Forest History Society
- A lifelong member of both SAF (The Society of American Foresters) & TAPPI (the technical arm of the American Paper and Pulp Association)
- Active member of the Port Royal Sound Foundation & the Lowcountry Land Trust
- Current Board member of both the Forest History Society & the American Forests Foundation
About Pam
Pam is always on the move. It seems like she is constantly juggling ten different projects, and she brings an abundance of energy and passion to each of them! Pam is not afraid to take on new and exciting challenges and always does so with a positive, can-do attitude! She is a proud forestland owner and an active board member for a variety of forestry organizations throughout South Carolina. Pam is particularly passionate about working with female forestland owners and being part of the American Tree Farm System.

Carson Welborn
Assistant Land Manager & Wildlife Technician
Carson works alongside Seth and our consulting Forestry team in conducting a wide variety of management operations. From prescribed burning, to bushogging, to establishing fooplots and firelines, carson is involved in every aspect of land managment here at Bailey Mill.
Seth Porter
Land Manager & Wildlife Conservationist
Seth is on the property daily and is skilled at managing & maintaining all aspects of land management. From planning and implementing agricultural activities to monitoring the health of our abundant wildlife populations. Seth is also certified in prescribed burning. He works alongside the consulting forester team to ensure that the land is managed in the best manner possible.

Small Munsterlander
Our favorite hunting Dog! Sweet Addy is just under two years old and is truly a light in all of our lives. She is a very skill hunter and enjoys any chance she has to run explore the property.
Grandkids
At PLT family is at the heart of everything the Porters do, so they decided to name many of the roads on their property after each of their beloved grandkids.
